Effective management of the ‘COMAH process’ will provide a means of assisting with the prevention of major accidents and incidents and is a demonstration that:
- A site specific Major Accident Prevention Policy (MAPP) and Management System for its implementation are in place
- Major hazards have been identified and the necessary preventive, control and mitigation measures are taken
- Adequate safety and reliability is incorporated into design, operation and maintenance
- Performance standards are defined to document the performance required of a system, item of equipment, person or procedure which is used as the basis for managing hazards
You will then be in a position to ensure you can effectively manage the myriad of legal requirements from the Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) Regulations.
